What do I need to bring to purchase a firearm?

You need your valid PA Drivers License. If you have changed an address we will aslo need a change of address card which you can get online.

This is the only acceptable form of ID we accept, and we do NOT need your concealed carry license.

Can I take my firearm the same day?

In most cases you are able to take your firearm on the same day, but it is entirely up to the PSP who actually does the check, we only facilitate it. We have no way to tell you how long it will take. It is worth it to note that any individual purchasing a long gun that is under 21 years old will immediately be put into research. The only timetable on this is that it can be up to 14 days until we hear a verdict.

Where can I get my concealed permit?

JW Firearms does not issue concealed carry permits. This is done only at the sheriffs office in the city you live. Not having a concealed carry does not mean you cannot purchase a firearm.

Do we transfer guns?

Yes, we do outside transfers. Please see below.

Private Transfer- Cost is $35 and we need both buyer and sellers drivers licenses
Shipped in- Cost is $50 and we will call you when the firearm is ready for pickup. Although it may show delivered, we still need to log the item in. Please be patient.
NFA- Cost is $100 and there will be other in person processes needed

Do JW purchase used guns?

Yes! We buy all types of firearms. We have a HUGE selection of used guns. We try to be as fair as possible to each customer that comes in. Please ensure any used guns being brought in are unloaded completely and preferrably transported in cases.

*We do NOT give appraisals over the phone, we need each gun being sold/traded in the shop so we can see the condition and modifications if applicable*

What if I feel I may not pass a background check?

At JW we are not legal counsel but will guide you in situations where the answer is clear. In other situations you will need to contact a lawyer or read the requirements on the background check to determine if you would be eligible to pass.

What is the cost of a failed background check?

If you fail a background check it is $50. You MUST be purchasing a gun in order to do a background check. We do not do background checks just to see if you would pass.

Can you order guns/ammo/accessories in that you don't have in stock?

We will absolutely try to order items from out distributors that cusotmers are looking for. We cannot guarantee that it will be in stock but we can put you on a waiting list. For items ordered we will have a down deposit be made for the item coming in.

Can you work on my gun if it is not working correctly?

At JW we currently do simple fixes and gunsmithing within our limits. Typically we can recommend a local gunsmith or assist in sending the gun back to the manufacturer.

Am I able to file a form 4 at JW?

Yes! We have a silencer shop kiosk that can get you jumpstarted on the process.

What accessories does JW Firearms carry?

We carry a multitude of products such as magazines, tannerite, AR parts, assorted/used mags and holsters, cases, targets and much more!

What brands does JW carry?

JW carries all different types of brands of firearms and accessories. Most brands we have access too, but some are on a random basis coming in used.
